We’re here, safe and sound!
Apologies for everyone waiting with bated breath to hear from the Uganda team (just needed to sort out some internet connectivity issues).
Launch Day was a fabulous time of team building and fun – a great way to start the trip. And now… a tally of our journey…
1 hour: bus to the aiport, winding through the green hills of Warrandyte
3 hours: checking in to our flight and exploring the airport (and having our last bite of Maccas!)
14 hours: flight to Dubai … much sleep and many movies!
4 hours: exploring Dubai aiport (and marvelling at the very snazzy array of shops! Chanel or Louis Vuitton anyone?)
5 and a half hours: flight to Entebbe (and that’s a very different kind of aiport than Dubai!). We are more than ready to be at our destination now.
1 hour: passing through customs and packing our bags into the ute. It’s warm! And humid!
5 hours: bus ride to Suubi House! It was very interesting taking in the different traffic, smells, shops and people along the way. We’re not in Kansas anymore!
10 minutes: demolishing a delicious dinner of spaghetti Bolognese (Thanks Juliet!)
1 minute: the time it took to enter dreamland when our heads hit the pillow.
Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts as we start on our trip! We’re stoked to be here and can’t wait to see what God brings us in the weeks ahead!
