Day 15 - Three in One

As today is Sunday, naturally we went to church like last week, but this time we attended ‘The Church of God World Missions’ church. They run 2 services in the morning, so as a team we decided to split into 2 groups to go to both services. They ended up being the same service but different times, so it ended up working well. Worship was mostly simular to Australian/western churches, but with a bit of Philippino culture thrown in as well with dancers dancing up the front.
We felt extremely welcome, as almost everyone wanted to shake our hand to say ‘hi, how are you?’ Both groups introduced themselves to the community at the start of both services. The speaker for both services had a message that was a decent hour long. The last service finished at around 12:30pm and we had lunch afterwards. We had a bit of a break between that and the next service we went to which started at 4pm. The 4pm service was a ‘family bonding’ fun kind of service, with more worship and we performed our ‘Capling’ skit and Jordan explained the meaning behind it, then ironically the speaker in this service spoke on unity, which Capling is all about.

Then we had to throw down dinner to then be heading to our third and final service, which was meant to start at 6:30 but in classic Philippino style we rocked up at 7. This church was a smaller than what we were expecting, but we still greatly enjoyed performing Capling again after worship, then our own ‘Pastor Tim’ preached a message from the Book of Joshua which we connected with greatly. After a big day we were all glad to hit the sack for a good nights sleep.
