Day 15 - Sunday Shenanigans

With today being our second last day in Kampong Thom, we set off to City Church for the final time. As usual, our whole team experienced immense confusion as we attempted to join in on their Khmer ice breaker games, and whilst our favourite song was not played (goes something like - so sah beh hallelujah hey!), we were lucky enough to be able to join them for communion. After singing a song, doing a skit and sharing some testimonies, we said our goodbyes.
We spent the arvo visiting a new outdoor church in the village that was full of kids. Again, we played out the story of David and Goliath which was very popular with the children, who could not stop laughing at Pete's dramatic acting skills! As the ground was not very firm, Duck, Duck, Goose was extremely difficult. Most of our team struggled to run as we sank into the muddy ground (it literally felt and looked like we were moving in slow motion) which made us easy targets for the kids who ran at inhuman speeds.

As it was Sunday, Love Cafe was closed :( This meant that we went to Arunras for both lunch and dinner; I think it's safe to say that we are all excited to try some new restaurants when we go to Siem Reap. Though Arunras is pretty good, after eating there at least once a day for 2 weeks I think we're all excited for a change! Sokhon joined us for dinner as he shared the story of his childhood and the path to planting his numerous churches and children's homes. It was an honour to hear, looking forward to hearing updates and many more great stories.
