Dear family, friends and future Schoolies Rev peeps,
We absolutely smashed Joel’s expectations of how fast we could build the last 4 layers of inside walls! Setting out we were expecting to be back by 2pm but instead we arrived back at Suubi House around 11:30am. A great playlist contributed to our team’s momentum along with a few machenga fights with the builders to keep us in good spirits.
Once we were back at Suubi we had a few hours to relax and bond with the team along with enjoying Juliet’s cooking. We rested up till 4pm in preparation for a long a waited soccer game against the builders.
The builders sabotaged our most important team members by kindly offering extremely hot chillis as a pre-game snack. The mzungus put in a gallant effort but knew we were doomed when they offered us children from the Village to play for our team. The final score was 3-2, and the Builders were kind in offering us a shirt to wipe our tears in. After another amazing dinner by Juliet we played a game of a mix between charades and taboo, which included lots of laughs as we spent our second last night here in Suubi all together!
See ya later chickens :)

Editor's Note: In the end, we worked 6 full days. The Builders were really impressed and this is was one of the fastest teams! It was great fun working alongside them and an absolute privilege to finish building the last house at the Village of Hope! Exciting to know that their will be soon be a family of orphans and a widow living there and being empowered to break out of poverty! Well done to the team and thanks to the amazing HopeBuilders Builders for having us onsite, keeping us safe, teaching us more about Uganda and helping us have stacks of fun!
