Another toasty warm day in Kampong Thom began as usual with the addition of birthday decorations and songs for Anke’s 18th trip around the sun.
Our morning consisted of yet another feeding program (we’re really good at them now). Songs, games, and dramas led to our usual bubbles, frisbees, balloons, and skipping ropes, along with additional dancing, as these kids loved a cheeky boogie. Some team members went off and prayed for the women of the village, while the rest of us played with the kids.
Following a much deserved shower, we went for lunch at a new cafe, and then set off for the Children’s Home. A repeat of the day before’s actions, we carried buckets of sand and rock, mixing up cement for our path to the dining room. We also indulged in some birthday cake with the kids and workers.
Dinner was, once again, at the Love Cafe where Vickie treated us to free homemade ice cream as a birthday treat. Some hotel room celebrations ensued for Anke with one heftily priced, warm bottle of Passion Pop and an early night.
