Today started the same as usual, baguettes with an omelette and black coffee - or baguettes with Vegemite/Nutella for those needing a bit of a change. Em then lead us in a time of devotions before we headed off to our village feeding program for the morning.
We arrived to a room filled with the cutest children you’ll ever meet. We did our usual ‘Hokey Pokey’ and ‘Whose the King of the Jungle’ while the kids were a bit shy...and then we got into Musical Statues and the Macarena. After this, the children became the most energetic bunch we’ve seen yet while we each became the sweatiest we’ve seen yet. After an hour filled with dancing, skipping, bubbles and more dancing - we earned a rest and a good shower. We then made our way to a Korean restaurant where no one could speak a word of English - but we all ended up with a decent meal thanks to google translate.

The afternoon was spent continuing our work at the children’s home. We dug some more holes, and finished cleaning up the field, putting all the rubbish and sticks in a pile for burning. However little did we realise the little village boys were taking the sticks back out of the pile and using them as toy guns. What was meant to be a full afternoon of some hard labor, ended up turning into a big war with stick guns and shields all across the field and lots of laughter!!

To top off the day, we even squeezed in an English class before dinner. For some this was a highlight, for some it was a night we’d rather forget (teaching is harder than it seems)! Some played Hangman and Simon Says, some labeled the human body...one group even ended up sharing their testimonies - while another group struggled to get the ABC’s across. It was an interesting experience to say the least!!

To sum it all up, it was a big day with lots of sweat, laughter, smiles and fun! And now we are exhausted and ready for bed!
