Today we set out to the other side of Cebu City to participate in a feeding program. Feeding Programs consist of children coming and getting a meal; Pastor Earl explained that it would be the only meal the majority of the kids will eat today. We danced around with the children and sung songs like Father Abraham and Hokey Pokey and then preformed a skit based on the story of King David.
After handing out the food, eating, blowing up balloons and playing with bubbles we embarked back to our side of the region to rest and eat some Turkish Kebabs!
After a good nap we headed back out to another feeding program at a church we visited on Sunday. We were greeted by heaps of smiling faces and once again we sung our songs and performed our skit. We served spaghetti and bread to the children for dinner then danced around for a good hour.
Our day concluded with everyone attempting to eat a Filipino delicacy; balut. Balut is a hard boiled baby duck egg; you can get it in different development stages, the later the stage the greater the chance you are eating a beak and feathers. All in all, after nearly losing my dinner, safe to say I’m never eating balut again....
Today was also our final day working with Pastor Earl as we leave for YWAM tomorrow, so we said our goodbyes and thanked him dearly for his time.
