Today marks our first day of being a part of the YWAM ministry teams. It is actually crazy how much is packed into a day. We got to be a part of ministering in a hospital as well as doing another kids feeding program with YWAM. Plus, we finally visited a laundromat (I never thought I could be this excited about clean clothes).
The hospital ministry was pretty confronting and also a little scary. It was quite a different environment to hospitals we are used to, and we were quite literally being thrown into the deep end, praying, sharing, and chatting with the people there. The way the YWAM team so boldly live out the Gospel – both in the spiritual and the practical – is truly inspiring.
By now, as a team, we have gotten pretty used to the gist of feeding programs, so it was cool to do one in a slightly different way than how we’d been doing it before. The kids at this village we went to are also very familiar with the programs and were sooooo excited and enthusiastic throughout it all! Face-painting was a hit, the kids got into our little skit, and the songs and dance-moves were so much fun for everyone.
Come dinner, and, oh my gosh, pasta bolognaise hit the spot. It also kind of started making me miss home… There’s still soooo much amazingness ahead of us, and there’s honestly no place I’d rather be, but yeah, I cannot deny the fact that we are missing our friends & family. So shout-out to all our loved ones – love you and can’t wait to see you!!! XOX
