Although waking up at 4:30am to trek up a mountain may not be everyone's cup of tea, our God provided the goods! With the energy to keep pushing through although our legs and lungs ached (some more than others), we made it up to the top of Monkey Mountain to see the sky wash over with oranges, yellows and reds as the sun lit up Uganda. The time spent up the top was definitely worth the journey, with Brandon providing the worship songs and the breathtaking view that I don't think anything could surpass. Our God is so good!

After our journey back to Suubi, and a quick breakfast, we set off to our next destination: Jinja Christian School, a local primary school. Here, we sat in on various year levels and classes, partaking in the role of a teacher for the morning. Subjects like English, Maths, Science and Social Studies are taught to students who do not speak English in their own homes, so it is quite remarkable to hear them speak our language so well within the school.

We also learned from Anne, a founding member, about the history of the school and how it came to life. After a performance by the P1's (Equivalent to our Preps) and our resounding performance of "10, 9, 8, God Is Great" and also prayer from both sides, we headed back to Suubi.

After lunch, we began our regular Village duties of brick laying, digging and as of yesterday, tutoring! Our team and Ugandan builders had the dancing spirit today, with the 'Single Ladies' dance being a particular hit amongst the kids and adults.

Lightning storms are a regular occurrence in the evening, so storm watching on the balcony is a lovely way to spend an afternoon before dinner! Dinner was special, with our Ugandan builders joining with us to share a lovely meal.
Ultimately, it was a long yet rewarding day. Spiritually, emotionally and physically, our team continues to bond each and every day. 🙂

Awesome! What a beautiful spiritual connection to our Lord when you see his/her beautiful creation! Budding teachers, builders and mentors you are all becoming. Well done!

Wow - worshipping in the African sunrise. That's got to be a pretty awesome way to celebrate the end of school!
