[Uganda] Day 9 : Lets bust a rhyme

Woke up feeling sore,
With the rain starting to pour,
We had pancakes for breakfAST,
Ready to have a blast,
With slums on the agenda,
And Johann our newest member,
The rain continued to storm in,
So our plans were thrown in the bin.

A nice lazy morning,
But it wasn’t at all boring,
Games were played,
And memories were made.
Lunch was a one pot wonder,
And truly fulfilled our hunger,
We then headed up the road,
To our second humble abode,
The village of hope,
Which was kind of dope.

Familiar faces greeted us,
Ready for a ‘chapati’ class, Oil, flour, water, onion, salt,
We mixed and cooked them without fault,
The mothers taught us their tricks,
And there was laughter in the mix,
A delicious supper was served,
And silence was observed,
And we munched our way through the plate,
Not a single bite did we hate.
A prayer and song to share,
With all our hearts we felt their care,
As we worshiped the Lord,
And sung a great chord,
We knew our time was coming to an end,
So we said fairwell to our friend-s,
With a night walk home,
We didn’t feel alone,
While reflecting on our time,
We started this incredible rhyme.
