We started off today by splitting into two groups in order to attend four different church services, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Our first service was held in a shopping centre. It was great to hear God’s word be announced to all people nearby to hear. Pastor Joseph showed us the new room in the centre that would be used to hold the services so that God's word can further reach and inspire more people.
Our second service was held in a small renovated home hidden in a small street. We were welcomed straight away with cheerful smiles and open arms. The energy during worship was invigorating and it was amazing to feel God's presence amongst us. Joel shared a great message on ‘searching for fulfilment in the right places’ and Daniel shared a great testimony filled with positivity. The sense of community was inviting and we all felt connected with the people. It was wonderful to find unity between two different worlds and cultures through the passion we both share for Jesus.

We ended the day by engaging in a fun night of what the people of the Philippines call videoke, which is essentially karaoke. We sang till our throats were sore. We belted out songs from Bon Jovi to Miley Cyrus and ended it with a final dance and sing along to Low by flo rida!

Church: Part Two
Church day! The best day. Today we all took part in two beautiful church services with local Filipino Churches. Although not fully prepared we performed our classic home among the gum trees song (not much of a match for the locals praise and worship songs with their voices).

Brayden and Erin shared their beautiful testimonies both sharing a theme of Jesus being faithful to us and picking us up out of our darkness, something we should we always remember and be transformed by.

One of the coolest things of worshipping with the Phillipines people is just realising how universal Jesus is and that he really is the king of kings. Although I have been told that from a young age and have believed it, it really is quite surreal when you experience it and join with your world wide Christian family and glorify our Father.
