Day 21: Home

What a crazy adventure that was! 3 weeks ago, we gathered for our Launch Day, meeting 11 interstate students for the first time, and heading off for our trips to Cambodia, the Philippines & Uganda. And here we are, on the other side, and what a ride it has been. What more can we say, but that we are super proud of each of our 38 students for the way they have engaged with all that we did, the way they connected with each other and celebrated well. It really is super inspiring to be around young people who are willing to do something different from the world around them!
After hours of flying, waiting and indulging in junk food at the airport, we arrived home. Singapore was the place of split, as the Philippines crew said goodbye to our new favourite Gold Coasters, while #fambodia said farewell to their Sydney-siders. It certainly was a weird feeling, having been together 24/7 for 3 weeks, but now being an incomplete team; certainly a testament to how well all our teams bonded over the time.

Arriving home, it was great to see excited parents and families ready to welcome their children. These parents also deserve a thank you and shoutout, not only for supporting their students in preparing for this trip, but also in raising awesome young people that they can be very proud of! As Schoolies Rev, we appreciate your support and encouragement along the way!

We are also super thankful to all our partners overseas, for hosting us and ensuring we had a safe and enjoyable experience. We have been so encouraged by the work you are all doing and appreciate the opportunity to be involved. Even in 3 short weeks, we recognise the struggle, challenge and hard-work it takes, so as you keep going we are inspired and will continue to pray for and support you!

Lastly, to our leaders, you guys are amazing! Your sacrifice and commitment in being involved does not go unrecognised and I believe it is a huge investment into the Kingdom and future of these young lives. Thank you for all you've done to make sure everyone had a safe and enjoyable time, for leading the way and being great examples and role models.

It really is hard to put into words all my thoughts and summarise each trip. It has been an amazing 3 weeks, full of confronting and inspiring moments, full of ups and downs and many incredible memories and relationships that will last a lifetime. And for me, the best part is that this isn't the end, and it was never meant to be. This is simply another beginning, another chance to put what we've learnt into action, to make change and continue to lovingly serve those in our path. This is what Schoolies Rev is all about and we are excited to hear the stories that are to come.
