Second day we delved deep into the history of Cambodia with a trip to Tuol Sleng the S21 prison, this was confronting learning about the horrific torture and actions of the Khmer Rouge soldiers during the democratic regime of Pol Pot.
We got back on the bus to go to the Choeung Ek killing fields where we all payed our respect to the victims of the Khmer Rouge. The temple there housed thousands of skulls from all different ages and causes of death, that have been excavated from the graves after the conclusion of the regime.

Today was challenging for everyone as both sights were extremely confronting, each of us processed and comprehended it differently. However we supported and bonded over the experience, quickly forming a strong family and support base within each other.
After this emotional morning we had a relaxing meal in a lovely restaurant along the riverbank, followed by a crazy tuk-tuk ride which for many of us was our first ride. We had some time in the afternoon to relax by the pool and reflect on our day. We look forward to tomorrow where we commence our work with Morijana.
