Day 15: Kawasan!

Today we went to Kawasan Waterfall, and what a day it was. Three hour road trip each way was 100% worth it. So refreshing, so much fun, and soooooo beautiful. Basically, it was SO GOOD!

Not a cop-out, but there really are no words or even pictures that can truly capture just how incredibly stunning the place is. Even the drive up and back was just AMAZING!! I was just in awe the whole time. Highly recommended.

Swimming in crystal clear water, surrounded by tropical trees, exploring waterfall after waterfall, rockpool after rockpool — it was like being in a little piece of heaven on earth. We also got to jump into the water off one of the 21ft tall cliffs and go down a water slide in another section. And while we didn’t have a go ourselves, it was very entertaining watching some other tourists fail the rope swing.

Aside from the beauty of the place, a massive highlight would be the lifeguard who was over-the-top in all respects. Over-the-top with what he was calling us out on, and over-the-top fabulous in the way he did it.

And the drive back. Duuuude. Sun setting behind mountain ranges and palm trees, going past the sea set up against a soft pinkish sky. Flip. Heck. Flippin heck.
