Day 13: In Loving Memory of Sally

No better way to start the day than with some worship! And that’s what we did today, we kicked things off with some amazing worship praising Jesus for how good He is. Of course this was done after a beautiful homemade breakfast, which was delightful to the tastebuds. To finish off worship, one of the local leaders gave us a word on faith and what it means to believe in an invisible God.
The next activity we took part in was a welcome to YWAM talk which was informative and good to fall asleep to; made me miss the good old days of school assemblies. In the afternoon we had our feeding program so to prepare for this we had one of leaders on campus [from Norway actually] teach us some songs and the dance moves that went along with them. These dance moves will be imported back to Australia.

At the feeding program we watched in awe whilst looking on as the students from YWAM served whole heartedly with joy and enthusiasm towards the kids. It really has been encouraging for all of us to see the faith of the locals in action. We performed our skit for the kids which indeed was interesting and of course up to standards; they thoroughly enjoyed it I’m sure. After many songs and good times with the kids we came home for dinner.

Dinner was rather traumatizing for some as we ate a chicken called Sally which they had befriended the day earlier. That chicken had one selfless heart, and a delicious body might I add.

To end the day we had a rooftop debrief. This was honestly a special time where we all were able to be edified from everyone’s experiences so far. It was eye opening for us all to look back on where we had seen God so far in the trip and just to realise how prevalent he has been with us and how much he has been caring for us.
