Today was our first official church service with Evangelical Missions Alliance (EMA). So after breakfast, which consisted of the usual bread rolls and omelettes (as well as this time, noodles and pineapple) we headed off via car at 8:15 for the 8:30 service. We were greeted with many smiling faces and hugs from those we had met the previous night.

Today was a big day! We started out with breakfast at the hotel, the same baguettes, omelettes and bananas as yesterday, though some other spreads migrated out of suitcases to join the breakfast table. The message of hope and the strength of faith from the morning’s devotion looking at stories of how Jesus healed the sick and raised a young girl from the dead through faith, was mirrored in the rest of the day, with multiple prayers of healing being fulfilled.
Call on me and I will answer you and I will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known - Jeremiah 33:3
After buffet breakfast at the hotel, we set off for the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum in the air conditioned bus. Upon arrival we were confronted by barbed wire and tall buildings surrounding a courtyard.
Day 2 (Arriving in Phnom Penh)
It’s hard to believe that in the early hours of yesterday morning we were flying out of Melbourne and away from the cold and rain (or so we thought, more of that later). To shorten a very long day of traveling; both flights were on time and relatively smooth and we landed in Cambodia in good spirits, despite the lack of sleep! Writing from the lovely lounges of Singapore Airport, we have completed the first leg of our journey and launched Schoolies Rev 2018! We have two teams this year, one heading to Cambodia and the other to the Philippines. Each day they will be sharing about their experiences and we are certainly looking forward to great trips!
We have been busy preparing for this year and we are so excited to head off soon! Even though numbers are a little lower than previous years, we have a team of excited students who are finishing off exams and then heading overseas with us!
